Reflecting on the PRISMAEU10 Webinar: Setting the Tone for the Next Decade of Youth Work
16-04-2025On April 15, 2025, the PRISMA EU Network proudly hosted its Anniversary & Preparation Webinar, marking the official launch of the #Road2Benalmadena campaign and setting the foundation for the PRISMAEU10 seminar later this month in Spain. The online event gathered over 50 youth work professionals from across Europe for an inspiring, forward-looking discussion on quality in youth work and PRISMA’s evolving role in the European youth landscape.
A High-Level Start: Voices from Global and Tech Arenas
We were honored to welcome two exceptional guest speakers:
-
Andreea Mocanu, Deputy Permanent Representative of Romania to the United Nations, who offered a diplomatic and global lens on the importance of structured, values-driven youth engagement;
-
Cristina Bălăceanu, Senior Program Manager at Google, who sparked dialogue around how technology, AI, and digital innovation intersect with youth empowerment and civic participation.
Their insights laid the groundwork for a rich conversation on what quality truly means in youth projects and how we can sustain impact at both policy and grassroots levels.
Celebrating a Decade of Impact
In a special anniversary moment, Gabriel Brezoiu, President of the PRISMA European Network, reflected on 10 years of growth, resilience, and collaboration. From its founding in 2015 in Cluj-Napoca, PRISMA has evolved into a dynamic European community of over 30 member organisations from 20+ countries, advocating for excellence in digital, green, and social youth work.
This milestone isn’t just a commemoration—it’s a call to action for the future.
Participant-Driven Dialogue
The second part of the webinar placed the spotlight on participants’ voices. Through breakout rooms and reflection prompts, attendees explored key questions:
-
What defines quality youth work in their context?
-
What are the most pressing challenges and inspiring practices?
-
How can we collectively raise the bar in the youth field?
Insights were collected via an interactive Padlet wall, sparking shared ownership and collaborative thinking ahead of the in-person seminar.
Next Stop: Benalmádena
The webinar wrapped up with a preview of the PRISMAEU10 Seminar: “Level Up Your Youth Work”, taking place from April 25–30, 2025 in Benalmádena, Spain. Participants were encouraged to sign up for the Open Space sessions and start preparing their good practices to present during the seminar’s collaborative exchanges.
The PRISMAEU10 webinar proved to be more than just a kick-off event—it was a reaffirmation of our shared values and a celebration of the energy that unites our network.
As we continue down the #Road2Benalmadena, we invite you to stay tuned, stay involved, and help us co-create the future of youth work.
