The European Ombudsman is offering traineeships in case handling, media and communication, and, for the first time, a dedicated traineeship program for people with disabilities. Joining the European Ombudsman for a traineeship is an opportunity to gain professional experience and contribute to the mission of promoting fairness and accountability in the EU’s administration. The traineeships are paid and last for one year. 

The eligibility criteria require applicants to be:

  • EU nationals;
  • have not previously held a paid traineeship or work contract with a European institution, body, agency; 
  • possess a good command of English;
  • hold a degree or diploma in a relevant field of at least 3 years. 

The deadlines for applications are: 

  1. March 24, 2023, for traineeships in case handling, media, and communication. 

  2. April 3, 2023, for traineeships for people with disabilities.
