We invite you to join the international online seminar on “The challenges of far-right and religiously motivated violent extremism during the COVID-19 pandemic” that will take place on Wednesday, 27 January 2021 from 3-7 PM Moscow standard time.
The event is co-organized by two Russian non-government organizations: The Conflict Analysis and Prevention Center and Sova Center for Information and Analysis. The event will have simultaneous translation in English and Russian.
The seminar will feature leading experts and practitioners from Russia, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands who will discuss the growth in activity and popularity of ultra-radical groups and ideologies during the pandemic, as well as approaches to preventing radicalization. One of the sessions will be dedicated to a roundtable discussion on the murder of French schoolteacher Samuel Paty, the reactions of authorities and the public in France, Russia, Chechnya, and among the Chechen diaspora abroad, and ways to prevent such lone-wolf attacks.
