Are you a young activist looking to make a difference? Apply to the Young Activists for Democracy training course and be a part of the project Democracy Here | Democracy Now. The Council of Europe Youth Department is hosting this project to restore mutual trust between young people and democratic institutions, advocating for increased political youth participation, and supporting the implementation of the Council of Europe recommendation CM/Rec(2022)6 on protecting youth civil society.
This training course aims to develop the competences of young activists in advocating for revitalising democracy, with the goal of creating a group that can support advocacy actions at both European and national levels. The course involves e-learning between April 20 and June 30, 2023, a residential training course between May 28 and June 4, 2023, and involvement in project activities and actions until the end of 2023.
The objectives of the course are to explore the causes and effects of democratic decline in Europe today, learn about democracy and human rights and Council of Europe standards, and develop competences in activism and mobilisation of young people and youth civil society. Interested individuals are required to read the call for participants and apply online by April 6, 2023, at 14:00 CET. Join the movement and help support democracy and human rights.
