Officially Launched: The PRISMA Ambassadors Programme 2026 Kick-Off

On August 6, 2026, the PRISMA European Network marked a significant milestone with the official online kick-off meeting of the PRISMA Ambassadors Programme. This exciting initiative brought together our newly selected youth leaders and national coordinators for the very first time, setting the stage for four months of intensive civic engagement and digital citizenship education.

Keynote Speech: Digital Citizenship Education

The meeting commenced with an inspiring keynote address by our special guest, Milena Nahapetyan, a Council of Europe Representative.

Milena Nahapetyan is a professional with around 15 years of experience in project management. Her areas of expertise include the field of education, gender equality, youth empowerment, development of civil society and democratisation processes. Milena joined the team of the Education Department of the Council of Europe in September 2024 to coordinate the implementation of the European Year of Digital Citizenship Education 2025.

The European Year 2025 is called to establish digital citizenship education as a long-term policy priority, as well as to foster cross-sector collaboration and to advance access to resources and innovative practices across all 46 members of the Council of Europe. Being a participating parent and a responsible member of society, Milena is dedicated to promoting informed, meaningful and ethical use of digital tools by learners of all ages. It is crucial to raise awareness and enhance communication on the fact that technology is neutral in its core. It is our digital and civic competences that shape our experience and our footprint in the digital space.

Our Mission and Roadmap

Being an ambassador means stepping up as a voice of the youth, a digital creator, an event organizer, and a community builder. The programme duration spans from August to November, requiring a strong commitment to learning and action. We discussed the roadmap of milestones for our project, which includes:

  • August 23-30: Youth Exchange in Slovakia for team building and planning.
  • September 14-20: #EDCEWeek26 campaign, where each national team will organize 1 offline and 1 online local campaign.
  • October: Reporting the impact of #EDCEWeek26.
  • November 18-21: European Digital Youth Summit (EDYS26) in Bucharest, Romania.
  • Content Creation: From August to November, each national team will create at least 2 social media posts each month.

What is Next? Preparing for Slovakia

The immediate next step for our newly formed network is preparing for the first physical mobility. From August 23 to 30, the ambassadors will travel to Slovakia for a comprehensive Youth Exchange.

This face-to-face gathering will serve as a crucial foundation for the programme. Participants will dive deep into the concepts of Digital Citizenship Education (DCE), discover new cultures, and undergo intensive training. They will build essential skills in public speaking and workshop facilitation, which will be instrumental when they return to design and organize impactful offline and online events within their own local communities during #EDCEWeek26.

Stay tuned for more updates as our PRISMA Ambassadors embark on this exciting journey!
